The package also says they can be programmed. The patterns they have are good enough, but there's clearly no way to connect them to a computer or to change any settings. They're much dimmer on one side, and the plastic battery caps come off easily if not taped. They're also heavy, so it's much better to put two of them per wheel. This also looks better, as you'd have to be going 20mph or more to see the patter all the way around with just one (as the pictures show in the listing). I contacted the company about the programming issue and they gladly refunded part of the price, but the ad still says you can program them. LEDs are bright and change patterns in an interesting and very visible way. Price is reasonable compared to other similar gizmos. 0 My concerns are several: - Claims to include light sensor so LEDs come on only in the dark. This doesn't seem to work. Things always come on when wheel is bumped or start spinning. - They are heavy. Heavy enough that I notice the imbalance on 27" road bike wheels. Fortunately I anticipated this and bought two. By placing them opposite each other, imbalance is barely noticable. - Battery cap is just flexible vinyl. While this seems to work now, and seems reasonably water resistant, this seems likely to degrade and crack or stop sealing after exposure to sun for a few months. We'll see.
