Never be missed. The CatEye Rapid 5 tail safety light includes the high power center SMD-LED and two 5mm LEDs of the Rapid 3, but adds two more side mounted high-power SMD-LEDs for maximum visibility from all directions. Four modes allow you to customize your visibility. The rapid mode is an all out attention grabber, using all 5 LEDs in a unique pattern guaranteed to get you noticed. The peleton-friendly pulse mode foregoes the high-power center LED to save blinding your riding buddies, while the constant and flashing modes add daytime safety options. 2 included AAA batteries will run the Rapid 5 for up to 100hrs and comes with the SP-11 FlexTight⢠bracket. Compatible with the all-new RM-1 Saddle Rail bracket and the clothing clip, available separately. 30 RECHARGE USB SAFETY LIGHTS NEW 30 RECHARGE NEW NEW

This review is from: CatEye Rapid 5 Tail Light (Sports) I haven't had experience with a wide range bicycle safety lights, but after searching the web for the best choice I decided to pull the trigger on the Rapid 5. I am very happy with it so far. The LEDs are extremely bright and noticeable even in daylight, and the blinking pattern really does grab your attention. I have only owned the Rapid 5 for a couple of weeks, so I can't speak to its long-term reliability, but it seems well-built. Installation was also super easy (additionally, you can mount it either horizontally or vertically via the quick-release mechanism). 0 I would definitely recommend the Rapid 5 to anyone looking for extra visibility while riding on the road. 20 of 24 people found the following review helpful Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: CatEye Rapid 5 Tail Light (Sports) Customer Video Review Length:: 0:40 Mins 0 I only gave the Rapid Five three stars because it does not have really good 180 degree visibility as it claims to have. It says that it has LEDs that point 90 degrees to the left and right. That may be. I can't say for sure because I was not able to pry the lens off. But it's just not all that bright when viewed from the sides. It's much, much brighter when viewed from the back than from the sides. I compared it with an older Cateye back light that I have, the TD LD 1000. Now that light really does have LEDs mounted on the left and the right, and it's really bright when viewed from the sides. See the video clip that I uploaded. You can see the difference in the side views between the Rapid Five and the older TD LD 1000, and you can see that the older Cateye is much brighter when viewed from the side tha n the newer Rapid Five. And as viewed by the naked eye, the difference is even greater than the video clip shows it to be. If you go to Cateye's very own website (just google "Cateye Rapid Five), they have a photo of the Rapid Five in the bottom right-hand side of the page showing how light disperses from this unit. As you'll see, it does a good job at 0 degrees (straight back), a reasonable job at 50 degrees (diagonally back to the left and right, but only very little at 90 degrees (directly left and right). I can't understand why they claim that the light has "two more side mounted high-power SMD-LEDs for maximum visibility from all directions.". 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: CatEye Rapid 5 Tail Light (Sports) It's a small step up from the TLD-600 but it is an improvement. The center LED is stronger and has a larger lens to focus the light. It's also slightly more visible when viewed from an angle. A BIG improvement is that now it only turns on if you hold down the on button for a second or so. The previous model turned on at the slightest touch. On several occasions it turned on in my backpack or in my coat pocket, so I ended up taping a plastic piece on top of the on button to prevent this from happening. I haven't had to do that with this model. 0 I'd recommend it! |
