I have purchased several lights (6 pcs) from other Amazon supplier, David Wu, seems to be this lamp and David's were the same quality, however David's are 1200 lumens while Wind Fire says this light was 1600, so I decided to try with one of the WindFire, when I recieved the light, I hooked up to the battery and turned it on, the light was not that bright, so I connected the battery to the power supply, left chargin for couple hours and turn it on again, the light was still the same, so I took one of David's lamps, turned on and compare vs Wind fire, big surprise the 1600 lummens is dimm, less bright, and doesnt go deep in the forest. 0 I dont think it can reach 1000 lumens. I bought this light to use on the Santa Ana Trail. You can see the whole trail for about 100 feet in front of you. All of the bushes and trees along the side are lit up also. There are other lights out there selling for 3 times as much money and only have 500 lumens. I am very happy with the performance and the quality of this product. AC adapter included to easily charge the removable battery pack that lasts for 3 hours on high. Light housing is made out of machined aluminum and is durable. Had some trouble with the head strap falling off but the light mounts easily to the handlebars and stays put. I would recommend this to my friends. I know I too dont think much of instant reviews by new owners but I have to tell you about this light. First, I wanted a light to flash brightly to help drivers see my wife riding in the daylight (she was just hit head-on and is in a neck brace for three months). We got this light and charged it up... charger shows green when light is good to go as does the illumination switch on the light itself. The battery pack is small and will mount on the frame easily. Charged up I put the light on strobe and took a look into it... NO! This thing is unsafe to look into. Beware, it is so intense that I have blurred vision 30 minutes later (now). I have played with it and believe that it will easily be distractingly noticeable by oncoming drivers from 100yds out. And it is pretty cheap. Seems well build. Will update after some use when she is out of the brace (early Oct.). length of run is a question but 4 hours would seem right... will see. No instructions or labe ling or any identification comes with the light (save your shipping label). I tried it at night too as a headlight. One word: WOW. It provides white light out 75 feet easy and even the lower level of light is plenty for normal city/road/woods riding. 0 Update: I ran the new light on "strobe" mode from full charge... 6 hours almost to the minute. It seemed to stay equally intense over the 6 hours and then recharged in about 3 hours (I believe). I plan to get another one so that my wife can have light for more than 6 hours. Update: Several points: do NOT leave the light plugged into the battery when you have charged the battery... simply leaving the headlight plugged to the battery shortens the charge... plug it together when you are ready to ride, and unplug at lunch etc. Further, if you think you would like an extra equivalent battery, you might as well by another of these lights since the 6400 ma battery is the same price (at another site) as this light. Also, be careful mounting the light as the plastic pull back can break off easily, then it becomes harder to mount. Overall, I love this light. |
