Just got this tail light a month ago and the difference is staggering. I charge it once and it lasts for three days or so. Charges pretty quick by USB. I plug the USB cord into an iphone wall charger. Its faster than plugging it into your PC. I put it on my seatpost, facing rear length wise. It looks awesome and the light is so bright I feel at ease that I am definitely seen. Honestly its the best and brightest, its obnoxiously bright to riders behind me. 0 8 of 9 people found the following review helpful Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Serfas Thunderbolt USB Taillight (Sports) My wife and I are commuting cyclists and have started using Surfas rechargeable lights almost exclusively. The UTL-6 is extremely bright, brighter than any other 20-30 dollar battery powered taillight I've used in the past. I think it is worth the extra cost. 0 Reasons I like it. 1. Brightness. 2. Since I ride multiple bicycles, I like that it doesn't need a mount to attach to the bike. Clipping those hard plastic tabs to your belt loop isn't always ideal, and generally results in the plastic breaking. I've found the rubber on the Surfas lights to be strong enough to be taken on and off again over and over and over without feeling like I'm stressing the product. 3. Surfas has used the same cable for charging over several generations of the USL/UTL series. I have Surfas lights spanning 4 years of product line, and they all us the same USB Mini adapter, which is a standard cable, easily found in most houses with technology a t this point. Things I don't especially like. 1. It's a bit bulky, but I can't complain because of the brightness. It still can fit in your pocket without too much trouble. 2. USB Mini is good, but USB Micro would be a good switch in future generations, as Most (non iPhone) phones use this size now. I long for the day when I only need one type of cable for charging everything! 3. If you don't have much seat post exposed on your bike, you might need to get creative with where you attach the light, but probably not too much of an issue most of the time. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful This review is from: Serfas Thunderbolt USB Taillight (Sports) This light is absurdly bright. Its very light and very easy to remove and replace (the box says 3 seconds, which I did not time, but it is not far off; make sure to remove it, I feel like it would be stolen in a split). The price initially seems expensive but the visibility is gratuitous and upon receiving it, the price feels completley justified. I bike around town in Atlanta, where people have trouble driving anyways and have no idea what to do around bikers, if they even see them. I just received this one for Christmas so I've only had a night out so far with it, but it was on a busy road and I had the distinct feeling like cars behind me were slowing down and accommodating. To get a look, just search for this on youtube, there are a few demo videos. 0 Construction feels very durable, well-built. I previously had Serfas' USB single-led headlight made of the same material, and I was really pleased with it (until I misplaced it). It is supposed to be waterproof, but I've yet to test this (the casing is pretty convincing to me). Again, this is probably the brightest bike light I've ever seen, let alone used. I am in the process of buying the head light. I was |
