5.0 out of 5 stars Small,but powerfully good!, May 31, 2011
N the 06 years that i've been biking i've owned 04 different headlights(Bell Night trail,Blackburn Quadrant,Cateye Halogen, and this one)and i must say "though it may be the smallest and most expensive light i've ever owned"-it still trumps all the others(except the Blackburn Quadrant) n the projection distance category. And that's saying somethin!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best bike light available, February 18, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ride my bike(s) a lot, both for my commute and for fun. I tried several bike lights in the past years, both cheap and expensive. This one turned out to be the best, by far, so I ended up buying four of them, one for each of my three bikes and one extra, just in case. This is totally worth the money and you can often find a good deal on them. The light is very bright and for a bike light, you can shine pretty far into the distance. You can set it to a constant shine or to flash. The light is available in black and in white. On occasion, I use the light as a flashlight, when I drop something in the dark, that is also very helpful. The light attaches very well, I haven't had any issues with it falling off or flopping around, you just have to make sure you click it in properly. One reviewer was wondering if maybe they shouldn't keep their bikes outside all the time,... duh (!), your bike light won't be the only thing breaking if you leave it exposed to th e elements year-round.
I use my light quite often and the batteries last a very long time. By the way, batteries come with the headlight. And my headlight said it was made in Japan (not China !).
Also, you don't need tools for the mounting hardware. That is good because every time I fix a flat I turn my bike upside down and since I don't want to damage the clip, I loosen the hardware and turn it so it won't get damaged. I haven't had any issues with the hardware.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great until they break., October 9, 2011

I have two of these on two different bikes, they were great for about a year. Then the little strap got stuck somehow on one, and won't tighten or loosen, and is just flopping around on the bike. And the other had the strap snap so it spins around on top of the mount facing me and every other direction. Maybe we shouldn't keep our bikes outdoors or maybe we're just too rough on them, but the plastic on the mounts just didn't hold up. Other than that they were great lights.
