This review is from: 9ft Blue Neon Glowing Strobing Electroluminescent Wire (El Wire) (Kitchen)
The packaging is small, the wire was coiled in a 2" roll. The battery pack uses 2 AA's and is simple to open and close. The battery pack has a LED light next to the on/off button to indicate the mode. The flashing LED matches the pattern of the wire; steady, strobe, flash. The connectors between the battery pack and el-wire are small and not very durable. It took a little fidgeting to get them plugged together, but if you treat them like any other small electronic part, you'll be ok.

The el-wire feels like fish tank tubing, and has a small plastic cap at the end. It is flexible and bends easily, even though I didn't see how far it could bend and possibly breaking it. The glow is evenly smooth for the entire length of the wire.

It glows bright in a dark room, can be seen ok in a dim lit room, and will be virtually undistinguishable in a well lit place or daylight. The strobe setting is more like a fast on/off mode, strobing about 6 times second. The flash mode flashes once per second.

My daughter wanted to be a Water Bender (the girl from the movie, Avatar, The Last Airbender). Wifeypoo made the costume, and I used this wire to create a swirl of blue water around her. Using 9 feet of 14-gauge wire from the hardware store (about the thickness of a coffee stir straw), and using clear scotch tape, I taped the el-wire to the coil of 14-gauge wire. There was enough at the top to make a small swirl, with the battery pack clipping to her collar behind her head. The wire is attached to her right shoulder, goes behind her back attaching to her left hip, continues across the front, and goes behind her again eventually stopping at her left leg. Sort of a swirl-of-water-bending-around-her effect. Additionally, I'll layer some light blue sheer fabric to the wire to give it some girth.

There is a slight high-pitched whine sound coming from the battery pack that could be annoying in a quiet room. But with any other nearby noise or activity around, it will fade to the background.

Lit my bike up like a neon sign. Extremely helpful for those dusty dessert nights.

Customer Video Review Length:: 1:06 Mins

This is a very simple light, like those glow wrist bands they sell at carnivals and theme parks, except this lasts as long as your AA batteries can go. It does make an electronic noise that can get annoying in quiet environments. Watch my video to here the sound.
